quoi de neuf – rien

quoi de neuf – rien

Bienvenue! I hope you had a good holiday weekend. I didn’t do much besides eat and drink. Eat and drink very well. I’m sure I need a detox, but I don’t see it happening this week. Anyway, I’ve been doing some planting/gardening, watching my peonies start to bloom, and being grateful for every minute with Razzmatazz. Here is quoi de neuf – rien, well maybe not complètement rien, enjoy.

Reading

I’m still trying to find time to continue reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold. It’s really good so far, I’ve just been busy with the holiday. A great companion book to it that I’m flipping through again is A Little Book of Japanese Contentments: Ikigai, Forest Bathing, Wabi-sabi, and More. A sweet book about Japanese culture and well-being.

Watching

I’ve been watching old Silent Walker Paris walks. Le sigh. I also watched Go With Le Flo several weeks ago and forgot to tell you about it. It’s a charming little movie to get lost in, it’s in German but of course it has a French flair. I also watched a live evening walk around the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding area with Oliver from the Earful Tower and Justin from Zia Paris, it was a lot of fun. It was exclusively for Patreon members, but I highly encourage you to sign up and support the Earful Tower, it’s so worth it.

Listening

I’ve still been listening to all the good podcasts. A good one with the Earful Tower and Shakespeare & Company. The High Low podcast is always fun. Goop is a good standby. I haven’t mentioned it before, but the Sunday Scaries podcast is definitely a good listen.

Also, while I was checking out the yoga foxes on the Maison Kitsuné site, it reminded me to listen to their latest playlist. You can listen on their website or search for them on Spotify.

Wearing

You know I love foxes. And Café Kitsuné. And yoga. Well check this out! I so wish I was wearing something from this new collection. Too cool. I also took advantage of the Anthropologie sale to order some tees and the Madewell sale to order some sandals. Kosas also has a limited edition Dream Team Set, so I’m looking forward to wearing their tinted face oil. I love that their products are clean and cruelty-free. Maybe instead of quoi de neuf – rien, this should have been quoi de neuf – le shopping??

Cooking

I’ve been doing all the regular holiday weekend recipes with my mom-in-law – guacamole, potato salad, grilled chicken, burger, brats, veggie skewers, and dont forget Gold N Krisps & Sweet Chili Doritos, so nothing different that you already don’t know about. Except this pie. Like a Flan Parisien, but way easier. Introducing the Magic Crust Custard Pie complements of Jane Barton. De rien. À bientôt!

Magic Crust Custard Pie

4 T. butter, softened
2 cup milk
3/4 cup sugar
4 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 t. vanilla
pinch of salt
nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 F. Blend all ingredients for 2 minutes in blender. Pour into buttered pie dish. Place pie dish on cookie sheet, in case it bubbles over. Bake 35-40 minutes. Sprinkle some nutmeg on top, bake 10 minutes more.
