quoi de neuf – cinq

quoi de neuf – cinq

Welcome to this Wednesday’s quoi de neuf – cinq. This is the fifth edition of quoi de neuf and it’s been quite an easy, chill week so far. I’m actually quite enjoying the calmness of the misty rain. And the smell of the lilac tree blooming. Not a lot going on, or a lot to share, just taking it easy. Hope you are too!

Doing

Enjoying our new shipment of wine from Castello di Amorosa in Napa Valley! We visited them during our anniversary trip to San Francisco, what a beautiful, special winery. We had so much fun in the tasting room and needless to say, joined the wine club! We savored the 2016 Merlot Monday night, it was so good. Someday, I know, we will go back.

Reading

Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. I just started this whimsical book about a café in Tokyo which allows it’s customers the chance to travel back in time. I really enjoy Japanese fiction, years ago I was addicted to Banana Yoshimoto’s books, I believe I’ve read them all. In fact now, I’d like to go back and read them again and start checking out some more Japanese fiction. More books to add to my list!

Watching

Over the weekend I watched the Earful Tower’s Oliver and Jay Swanson cross Paris from east to west live. I tuned in about an hour in and watched the remaining three hours. I love feeling like I’m there, and I love that it was live! Also, I watched another of Oliver’s live Pub Quizzes on Saturday with the Eiffel Tower as he and Lina’s backdrop… good times.

Still watching/listening to Chillhop on YouTube. Love that little raccoon!

Wearing

I really want to order this Rafia Top from Anthropologie. Very cute with the puffy, ruffled sleeves, kinda Gwyneth. Also digging these loafers, they would be très cool if I ever make it back to work.

Cooking

My Garden Green Bean Soup turned out très délicieux I must say, and if you are a fan of green beans, you must try it! I made some adjustments, the original posted recipe has been updated.

Tuesday for lunch I gathered up greens from the fridge for a salad and ended up making an awesome salad! I think it’s one of the best I’ve ever made. So good, so healthy… here it is!

Super Green Goddess Salad

1 large leaf of kale, stem removed and chopped
1 leaf of romaine, chopped
handful of baby spinach
1/2 c. of cucumber, chopped
1/2 c. of canned chickpeas
salt, pepper, paprika

Goop Green Goddess Dressing Ok – this is what really makes it, this dressing really is the jam just like the Goop Carrot and Ginger Dressing. However, I did make some substitutions: instead of the tarragon, basil and cilantro I used 1/2 c. parsley, 1/2 c. cilantro and 1 T. fresh thyme. Also, instead of 4 t. lemon juice, I used 2 t. plus 2 t. tarragon vinegar.

Put greens in a bowl top with cucumber. Heat olive oil in small pan. Next, toss chickpeas with paprika and salt, add to pan and saute until crisped. Dress salad generously with Green Goddess, top with chickpeas and, as sister says, feel the healthy!

À bientôt!
