quoi de neuf

quoi de neuf

Welcome to the Wednesday quoi de neuf. This week has been about self-care for me, and today it continues. Boho detox yoga, meditation, healthy eating, diy facials, still going strong. This Wednesday is no different than the last, weather-wise, cloudy and gloomy. Wishing for a little bit of spring before summer arrives. I’ve got so many seeds to plant, and now that I have the time, the weather won’t cooperate… why?? So let me just get to it. Here is quoi de neuf aujourd’hui!

Doing:

DIY face massage. A french beauty secret. While they get theirs done professionally, I will learn how to do it chez moi. This one found on Mind Body Green looks good. Ageless Beauty the French Way by Clémence von Mueffling also has a short section on facial massage, but definitely worth checking out regardless for all kinds of French beauty tips and secrets.

FreeKibble. Been clicking on this everyday for years. RuffRuff.

Reading:

Paris On Air by Oliver Gee. Such a fun book, perfect for getting lost in Paris. I’ve been listening to The Earful Tower podcast for a long time and thought I would already know most of the stories but in his book he goes into details I haven’t heard before. So entertaining!

Drinking French by David Lebovitz. I didn’t think I needed another cookbook, even if it was about cocktails, but I’m so glad I got this. It’s a gorgeous book, with beautiful photos. David talks about all kinds of French drinks, from café favorites, to apéritifs, to cocktails, to snacks. The first drink I made was an apéritif, the City of Light, mais oui. So good. This past weekend I made the Rosemary Gimlet – a perfect cocktail. Sante!

Listening to:

Spotify. The playlists Cloud Cover, Keep Calm & Stay Happy and One Song a Day… (by Caroline De Maigret – je l’adore).

Goop Podcast. Special Episode: Gwyneth Interviews Peter Attia about COVID-19.

Watching:

I love to wander the streets of Paris with Google street view. I’ll pick a certain point, a cafe or shop I have just read about, and start from there. Just found out about Google Arts & Culture, which has French Wonders You Can Explore From Home. You can even visit Monet’s Water Lilies at the Orangerie Museum!

Wearing:

Reformation Rio Sweatshirt on Shopbop. I got it in the granite color, which looks like it’s no longer available, but I was also considering the black. It’s such a nice fabric and fit, it’s like a dressed up sweatshirt. I even got a compliment on it yesterday 🙂

Cooking:

Coconut Poached Salmon. I love GOOP. I have all of Gwyneth’s cookbooks too, which I peruse weekly. This is the first time I tried this recipe, from one of the detox menus. Easy and delicious.

Boho Beautiful Garden of Vegan Aioli. “The famous and favorite Italian dish gone vegan and healthy. Brown rice (gluten free) spaghetti, mixed with mushrooms, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and spinach. Cooked with garlic, basil, spices and extra virgin olive oil.” Making this tonight while following along the Boho Detox program.

Well that’s it for today. Join me later for a foodie or a frenchie Friday or both! Also hang with me on Instagram and Pinterest chez /cparisgirl (someday I’ll figure out how to link directly from the blog ;-p) A bientôt!

    • Non, tu es très cool soeur. Loving your author names! And yes – Rosemary Gimlet – it’s the jam. You make a simple syrup infused with fresh rosemary, yum.
