How to practice what you preach – a monday meditation

monday morning cheers!
meditate and motivate
time to be my best

– charlotte le blog

Bonjour! It’s been almost 6 months since my first blog post, this is my 61st post! I don’t think I’m benefiting as much as I should from my posts, because as soon as I finish one, I’m thinking about what to write in the next. I haven’t been reflecting, or meditating, on each one. Inspired after reading The Goal of a Healthy Soul by Joyce Meyer, it got me thinking. I need to start putting a little more effort into being the best me I can be and learn from what I’ve learned. Here is how to practice what you preach – a monday meditation.

meditate

My first monday meditation really said it all, in a short and sweet way. Meditate on the good things. The Jonathan Livingston Seagull quote said it perfectly also. It’s all in your mind. Your thoughts today will define your tomorrow. If you remember this, you are more than halfway there. Meditate on the fruits of the Spirit daily. See? Looking back, I forgot all about my love meditation!

Along with meditation, concentrating on the good and actual guided meditation, keep practicing gratitude. “Appreciation and gratitude not only diffuse negativity but attract more loving and positive energy into your life.” –Boho Beautiful. Just as important as focusing on the good things. Pay attention to the little things that make you smile, that make you feel lucky to be alive.

Hand in hand with meditation is journaling. I’ve only been journaling once a week, I need to make more time for it. I also need to find more time for solitude, so I can sit with my thoughts and not try to escape them. I think some haiku would be in order too, non? Also, work on the practice of how to manifest happy.

motivate

I need to motivate to practice what I preach. First I’m going to print out that goop quote along with a picture that I thought looked like a skinny me and maybe put it by my bed for a little morning motivation. Not that it’s all about losing weight, but it would help if I were comfortable in my skin. I’ve got to remember the blog about metabolism, I need to add more strength training!

I came across this article Five Ways to Reconnect with Your Motivation, it is certainly helpful. Doing the Taco Cleanse has motivated me to keep on keepin’ on with a vegetarian diet – I love feeling the healthy sister!

Something to remember though is that focusing on being “perfect” prevents us from taking action or making progress. The formula is something like this: Discipline = excellence + faults or imperfections = building your true character.

make time

One of the best pieces of advise in my blogs comes from one of my favorite books, and it is “Take the time“. Take the time to daydream and dream some more. Remember to stop and smell the roses. Enjoy a café au lait. Work on your embroidery. Make time for skin care, face masks and how about some Easy Depuffing Face Massages to Do at Home?

Make time for your favorite foods. Pizza, pizza, trying all the cocktails in Drinking French by David Lebovitz (especially the Rosemary Gimlet!) and don’t forget the Brie Tartine du Dimanche Soir! And then remember it’s all about balance, with Super Green Goddess Salads, Metabolism Master Morning Smoothies, healthy pizza and mocktails.

I hope you didn’t mind all the links in this blog post, but I was trying to get back and refresh on everything I’ve posted before. Maybe you’ve refreshed, relearned or learned something new in this how to practice what you preach – a monday meditation? Hope so! And I hope you have a blessed week. À bientôt!
