Salut September – Vive la Rentrée!
Bonjour et salut September! Ça va mes amis? Long time no see! I’m back with new what’s new and inspired inspiration! I love the feeling of new energy September brings, the beginning of a new season. La rentrée! In France, la rentrée is a whole atmosphere and celebration. “Je vous souhaite une excellente rentrée!” is a phrase heard often this time of year, as people wish one another a good September. There’s a feeling of anticipation in the air, of renewal and a recharging of batteries. Usually I post my quoi de neuf the first Wednesday of September but I was out of town – shout out to cousin Amber in St. Louis and her Joyeux Anniversaire! I’m so grateful to have started September with family 🥰, so refreshing to reconnect with them after so long. So, without further ado, Salut September – Vive la Rentrée!

With summer’s best of weather and autumn’s best of cheer.”

First things first, I created a playlist! A laid-back, short but sweet, frenchy set of music to balance out all that new September energy. You can find it on Spotify, aptly titled Salut September – Vive la Rentrée! Enjoy!
I’ve also added more books to my queue of about 50 books now. All the Devils are Here, Crying in H Mart, My Place at the Table, The Gift, and last but certainly not least, The Man Who Planted Trees. At the moment, I’m in the middle of Midnight Library, it’s very good so far. I just read an article in Vogue magazine about Sally Rooney, and now I am putting Beautiful World Where Are You at the top of my list. Speaking of Vogue, of course I’m reading/studying the September Issue! My thoughtful husband was kind enough to surprise me with a copy. The theme this year? New Beginnings, mais oui.
Dreaming of Iceland – it’s on my bucket list ❄
My husband found this for us to watch, it was also recommended by Vogue for what to watch Labor Day weekend – Only Murders in the Building on Hulu. It’s so good! I am hooked!
I almost forgot – I’m studying the book Chakras, Food, and You: Tap Your Individual Energy System for Health, Healing, and Harmonious Weight. It’s so informative! According to the book, I’m a Visualizer, I live for visions and beauty. I’m also a curator, observer & dreamer.

I finally ordered my “school supplies” for my Mindful Japanese Calligraphy Course 書道. I’ve got my rice paper, ink and ink dish, just waiting on my paint brush!
I LOVE Sezane’s new fall collection! It’s so 80’s The Limited, so cool, so fun, so pretty. If only I had saved some of those clothes. Right, like I’m going to fit in to stuff I wore when I was 17 🙄. There are always places like Ebay or Poshmark, but I’m not seeing my stuff. I did order this cardigan (look – Goop carries Xirena!) and this sweater at ThredUP, “an online consignment & thrift store for your closet, your wallet, and the planet”. What a great idea, and what an amazing price for high quality, gently used clothes! ThredUP also has a big selection of The Limited clothing.
I love this Ruffled Leopard Pajama Set from Anthro, add to cart ✔.
I am so happy I splurged on this Seasonal Edition Manor House Weekend Cardamom Milk candle from Otherland. Not only is photography enchanting on their website, but just the whole idea, Manor House Weekend… And you know I love cardamom. Their packaging is so awesome too, it came in a beautiful box with matches included! Perfect for gift giving. I also had to order the new Forbidden Fig candle from Voluspa. With “Notes of Ripened Fig, Velvety Musk, Midnight Rose & Fig Leaf”, how could I not?
Ordered some CBD from Equilibria for more chill September evenings. Also ordered GOOPGENES Clean Nourishing Lip Balm to replace my Rose lip balm, although (sorry goop) the Rose Balm is so much better. I’m enjoying the August Summer Serum from Fawn Lily Botanica. And you know I’m very much enjoying the Miami Cocktail Co. x goop Organic Limonata – it’s a Goop Party in a can!!!

I am still working on an actual Recipe Index so you can find all my recipes in one place. As you see at the top, it says recipes, but when you click, nada. Hopefully I’ll have it up by next week.
I really want to make these Truff Mini English Muffin Pizzas and I can’t wait to make a plant-based pizza with Moku’s Hawaiian Teriyaki Jerky! I’m trying to decide between that one or my Friday Pizza Calabrese (I just received a new order of Zoe’s Spicy Turkey Salami) for this coming pizza Friday.
In my resolve to eat an apple a day, Goop, as usual, has me covered with Apple Cinnamon Chips, Smoked Sausage, Cabbage, and Apple Skillet and Fennel, Apple, and Walnut Salad.
Remember, Eat Seasonally 🍆!

Yes, still (!!) working on the upcoming monday motivation post for a monday meditation. Obviously, I need to do all the research and studying I can!
Since September is like a new beginning, I’ve decided to make a few rentrée resolutions:
* Eat an apple a day 🍎
▪ Live simply
* Stay more in touch with family
▪ Set aside more time for reading 📚
* Go to bed earlier
▪ Follow my dreams 🌈“Vivre, c’est faire de son rêve un souvenir.”🌞 – Sylvain Tesson
What are your resolutions for la rentrée? Let me know in the comments. That’s it for my September quoi de neuf! Bisous and à bientôt!
“O sweet September, thy first breezes bring
George Arnold, September Days
The dry leaf’s rustle and the squirrels laughter,
The cool fresh air whence health and vigor spring
And promise of exceeding joy hereafter.”
Wonderful !
