It’s quoi de neuf – March edition in like a lion!

Salut! March certainly came in like a lion! Last Sunday the snow finished melting and then on Monday afternoon, giant gusts of snow. C’est la vie here in Ohio. Can you believe it will be one year this month since the lockdown began? At least we have the first day of spring, aka the vernal equinox, to look forward to March 20th. Spring is what’s new this month! It’s quoi de neuf – March edition in like a lion!

dreaming

So what do you do in March? Dream of spring! I’m planning my vegetable garden. I purchased my seeds from John Scheepers Kitchen Garden Seeds. My theme this year, that I’ve always wanted to try, is an all French vegetable garden! Un peu ambitious? Oui. But you know what Audrey says, To plant a garden…” Check out this impressive list – all French!

Emerite Filet Pole Bean
Orange Sunset Cauliflower
Parisienne Cornichon de Bourbonne
Bleu de Solaise Leek
Rouge d’Hiver Romaine Lettuce
Petit Gris de Rennes Melon
Flamboyant French Breakfast Radish
Monstrueux de Viroflay Spinach
Carmello Tomato
Marseillais Dwarf Basil
Provence Lavender
French Summer Thyme
Princess La Ratte Potato

Joyeux printemps! I can’t wait 🍅🌶🥕🥒🥔!

doing

I mentioned in Monday’s post that I started an intuitive fast. Right after I finished listening to The Goop Podcast Gwyneth Paltrow x Will Cole: Intuitive Fasting I ordered his new book Intuitive Fasting and started straight away. In the introduction he says “I believe food and wellness should be fun and magical.” Exactly!

Adding another book to my list (when am I going to catch up? seriously?), There’s No Such Thing as an Easy Job by Kikuko Tsumura. I mentioned before my love for Japanese fiction, and this one seems perfect right now.

I found a new podcast that’s very interesting and that I can learn so much from too. The Week in Art. I really need to get more culture in my life! The first one I listened to was about NFT’s… what 🤯??

I am looking forward to watching Audrey on Netflix starting March 14th. I wonder what she would think about my French garden 😉?

d’ailleurs

So what else is new? Un peu de ceci un peu de cela… You know how much I love my Paris walks. Well here’s a different spin, in cities all over the world, including Paris – Drive & Listen!

Seedlip Spice, of course I ordered the one that has cardamom, or maybe because it was the one with the fox on the label? Regardless, it’s sugar-free, so I can’t wait to work it in our Intuitive Fasting plan for a keto style happy hour!

More foxiness (ordered on Goop!) with a Japanese Cherry Blossom & White Tea Soothing Mask. And while I’m waiting on my tulips to spring up outside, wouldn’t Bloomeffects Tulip Dew Drops be a special treat? It has a proprietary Dutch Tulip Complex 🌷

Not the usual recipes this month, because I’m concentrating on all the recipes in Dr. Will Cole’s book for our intuitive fast. In fact, I just finished his Sweet Pea and Avocado soup. Made with coconut milk, almond milk, vegan yogurt and served chilled, it was absolutely divine, perfect for spring! If you want to keep it simple, how about this Cucumber & Avocado Soup from Goop? Maybe add a dash of coconut milk or cashew yogurt in at the end? Miam!

Enfin et surtout, a big shout out to ma petite soeur! It’s a big birthday for her this month! Joyeux Anniversaire 🙌🎉🍾😘! We will celebrate together soon! Bisous and à bientôt!
