Happy October – it’s a crisp new quoi de neuf!

Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”

—F. Scott Fitzgerald

Salut mes amis! Bonjour fall! I’ve said it before, I love the fall season. The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are starting to show their colors, just magical. I will be taking it easy, feeling the healthy and just enjoying everything autumn has to offer. Bonfires in the back yard, crisp walks with Razzi picking up acorns to bring back to the squirrels and getting cozy with some tea or cocoa and book reading! I’m concentrating on being mindful, and enjoying every minute. Happy October – it’s a crisp new quoi de neuf!

Do

Just downloaded the Chopra app to do the 7-day Total Meditation Challenge. There are also daily challenges and quick fixes on the app, it looks very interesting and helpful.

Ma soeur gifted me The Taco Cleanse book, it is so much fun. I’m doing the “cleanse” this week and really loving it so far. Sister is joining me 🌮😊

Listen

After listening to the recent Earful Tower podcast with Adrien Leeds, I found this from last year on YouTube: Why buy property in Paris with Adrian Leeds. A girl can dream…

Inspiring Goop podcast with Jay Shetty the author of the book Think Like a Monk. Also good is Jay’s podcast with Gwyneth!

More Clare de Lune for the upcoming Blue Moon.

Read

Your whole body, from wingtip to wingtip,” Jonathan would say, other times, “is nothing more than your thought itself, in a form you can see. Break the chains of your thought, and you break the chains of your body, too.”

― Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Jonathan Livingston Seagull I found this classic from 1970 in a neighborhood book box while walking Princess Puppy. What a brilliant idea, and what a find! The book is about self-perfection, love and really living life. So many thoughts that I try to concentrate on in the blog. I read it eons ago, I’m anxious to read it again. “Jonathan Seagull discovered that boredom and fear and anger are the reasons that a gull’s life is so short, and with those gone from his thought, he lived a long fine life indeed.
― Richard Bach, Jonathan Livingston Seagull

Ghosts written by Dolly Alderton one half of The High Low podcast which I always enjoy. I’m sure I’ll enjoy this book too.

A Blissful Ode To Fall – you must read this short article. Beautiful and perfect.

Shop

My sister also recently gifted me this awesome France candle. “Buttery croissants served en terrasse, paired with un café au lait. The bustling energy of the streets with faint touches of tobacco and lavender.” Le sigh. While perusing the net I found French Exit – another candle I would love to add to my collection.

The Girl Who Reads to Birds 500-Piece Puzzle from French artist Nathalie Lété. Yes, I just preordered this, too sweet not to.

This Navy Cardigan looks very Goop, or How to be Parisian, either way it’s classic.

Speaking of Goop, I’ve always wanted to try this G.DAY GINGER + ASHWAGANDHA ENERGY BODY WASH and now it’s on sale!

Cook

Just ordered more pretzels from Eastern Standard Provisions. They are every bit as delicious as they look in the pictures!

Let’s make some doughnuts this weekend! Maybe reduce some apple cider for a glaze and add cinnamon sugar? Or dip them in salted butter caramel like at Holybelly in Paris…

I know I already posted a Butternut Squash Bisque recipe, but here’s a special one for sister: Vegan Chai Spiced Butternut Squash Soup.

Definitely trying this festive, fall Roasted Mushroom Kale Pizza from Half Baked Harvest.

Happy October – it’s a crisp new quoi de neuf, I hope you enjoy. Have some extra fun this Halloween and enjoy the Blue Moon!
