Happy Friday – it’s time to trim the tree!

Salut! Joyeux Friday! Hope you are all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and the leftovers this weekend – I know we are! Loving this lazy day off work, feeling so cozy and festive! I thought I’d share with you how I’ll be spending the day, including some fun food and recipes I’ll be indulging in. Happy Friday – it’s time to trim the tree!

bonjour!

I love to sleep in, but not too late – I don’t want to waste my morning. How should we start? I’m sure there will be leftover Brioches roulées à la Cannelle, with some Starbucks Christmas Blend, or more Thanksgiving blend, it will be the perfect start to our cozy, festive Friday. Then I think a brisk walk with Princess Puppy is order, not that it will do much about the calorie fest I’m having, but every little bit helps.

holiday mood

Time for Christmas music to set the mood! And holiday movies. I have music saved in my Apple library and on Pandora but the Sounds of the Seasons channel isn’t too bad on cable either. YouTube has all kinds of holiday music. Snow Cafe Christmas Jazz, Fireplace Sound and Peaceful Instrumental Christmas Music, Christmas Music From Another Room – you could get lost in all the music there for sure. The Francophiles have la playlist – decembre for a French festive mood.

I’m personally waiting for my favorite show on Hallmark. No, not one of the corny Hallmark movies, although the corniness is actually kind of funny. I mean the Happy and Friends Yule Log! Of course my absolute favorite show is A Charlie Brown Christmas, isn’t it everyone’s? Already watched You’ve Got Mail for Thanksgiving, tonight it will be Love Actually, such a good festive movie. The original Grinch Who Stole Christmas is on tonight too!

Stuffles! The highlight of this beautiful day! The reason I make a double batch of stuffing/dressing for Thanksgiving 😋🧇 Just found this Goop recipe for Stuffing Waffles – of course there is a Goopified, slightly healthier version. Looking at this is making me so hungry – I can’t wait! I think we’ll have to start with the Cinnamon Rolls and do the stuffles for breakfast/ brunch!

Speaking of waffles – another great gift idea! The Will it Waffle book and a cute waffle iron! I’d love to get this one for sister. How about mini snowflakes or mini hearts? On the subject of waffles, will a falafel waffle?? Woohoo! Yes It Does!

sparkle

Time to trim! I love our tree. It’s an artificial one, with white and colored lights that you can switch back and forth. I love looking at all the beautiful ornaments, each one has a memory. Which reminds me – I need to pick up our Hallmark ornament – we are up to 10-Lords-a-Leaping! Anthropologie has the sweetest ornaments, mais oui. I’ve bought some cute ones from World Market too.

I think these Rustic Pistachio Madeleines would be a delicious tea time, or hot cocoa time, break. I’ve been wanting to try this everything ranch cheese and pretzel snack mix from Half Baked Harvest for awhile now and it looks like a very festive tree trimming snack. I probably won’t be able to wait until tomorrow for a turkey sandwich, how about a mini one on our leftover dinner rolls with some Veganaise and cranberry sauce?

Of course it’s Friday so… Pizza Time! After looking through all the Thanksgiving leftovers pizza recipes, I think this Thanksgiving Skillet Pizza looks the best. I’m sure husband won’t mind since it has mashed potatoes as the sauce😜 Certainly carbing it up today aren’t we? That’s what this holiday is for. And of course giving thanks! Thank you reader! Happy Friday – it’s time to trim the tree! I hope you have a fabulous weekend. À bientôt!
