How to do Pizza Friday – the healthy way
Salut! Bonjour! And happy Pizza Friday! Like everyone else I’m doing the healthy thing for the new year. Moist January, the Goop Annual Detox, Wild & the Moon recipes and a 14 day Boho Beautiful Yoga and Meditation Journey. And most likely like everyone else, I was a little too ambitious in my goals. Namely Moist January. But after seeing this Goop post, I’m not feeling too bad about myself ๐. Day 5 of the Goop Detox, by the way, calls for Veggie Fritters with Creamy Avocado Cilantro Sauce. I will still most likely make them over the weekend, they look too delicious, but it’s Friday so that means pizza! Allons-y! How to do Pizza Friday – the healthy way!

I like to alternate Friday pizza between homemade, frozen and delivery. For frozen, I have found a lot of great options. My most favorite is Amy’s gluten free Margherita pizza. It’s so good, I have picked it up even when I’m not on a detox. Unfortunately it seems it is unavailable at the moment but it looks like they have new flavors available that are certainly worth a try!
There are a bunch of cauliflower crust frozen pizzas out there too. I have yet to try one. Here is a cute article from BuzzFeed ranking 5. Of course Trader Joes is up there. Oh how I wish there was a Trader Joes near by, it would be trรจs dangereux though, I would be filling my cart every week. I have to give a shout out to Sweet Earths Truffle Lovers Pizza. So good, but it is also organic, wheat crust, lots of protein, and the calories are pretty low too!

Just as easy as frozen pizza is take away or delivery. I was very happy to see that Donato’s pizza now offers Conscious Choice pizzas with cauliflower crust and plant-based sausage. I’ve ordered twice now and I must say they are delicious! I’ve noticed other pizza places offering alternative crust too, just check around. Make it light cheese with veggies and you still have a healthy meal!
For a different kind of delivery stock up on some Banza pizza, the pizza made from chickpeas! You can order directly from their website. I’ve enjoyed their chickpea pasta before, so I’m betting the pizza will be equally delicious!

I have yet to make this healthy pizza that I mentioned back in August. Maybe next Friday? I would love to try a pizza with eggplant on it. I forgot all about Jamie Oliver’s Cauliflower cheese pizza pie, not cauli crust, but topped with cauliflower – miam! Here is an excuse to buy La Tourangelle Pesto Oil ๐ A Pesto Potato Pizza! Looks healthy enough to me!
There are so many frozen cauliflower pizza crust options out there now, which makes it a cinch to make yourself a healthy pizza at home. Here is an article from Well + Good with their picks for the top 5. And if you’re looking for a French pizza dough how about this Francine French Pizza Mix? Just add healthy toppings! I think it would be a fun twist on the old Chef Boyardee Pizza Kits of our childhood for a Friday night!
While I’m at it, Naan Bread makes a great pizza base too! So does a large tortilla for an extra skinny crust. Just remember to take it easy on the toppings, maybe now is the time to try a vegan cheese or no cheese at all? Here’s a Vegan Tortilla Pizza from Blissful Basil that certainly looks worth trying out! And last but not least, a sweet potato crust looks interesting to try one day too.
I’ll say it again, so many pizzas, so little time! I think I need to do pizza week again, with a different pizza every night ๐ So what am I having tonight? The Banza Roasted Veggie– buonissima! I picked one up at my local Target. And that’s how to do Pizza Friday – the healthy way. Hope you enjoyed and have a happy, healthy weekend! รย bientรดt!

Mmmm – it was pretty good! Going to try the pesto potato Friday – maybe use a tortilla or cauliflower crust ๐๐
