Charming cardamom recipes for a cozy & happy Friday
Salut et joyeux Friday! Thanksgiving is coming up fast but I’m not doing a post of Thanksgiving recipes. There are so many out there and everyone has their own favorites and traditions (we will again be doing White Castle Dressing😋). Cardamom is a holiday flavor though, from the fall through New Year. It’s a member of the ginger family. It is spicy, floral warming, magical – charming. Cardamom means “grains of Paradise”. It can be used as whole pods, seeds, or ground. Of course festive Chai has cardamom. So does garam masala. Cardamom has many health benefits including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and diuretic properties. I’ve always bought powdered but I’ve read that using the pods is better, freshly grind them yourself. Here are some charming cardamom recipes for a cozy & happy Friday.
bonjour
These Cinnamon rolled buns (kannelbullar) by Fanny Tornberg of Café Suédois in Paris look so good I just might need to make them for Thanksgiving brunch. What a perfect start to the day 🦃!
I just came across these Blueberry Scones with Cashew & Cardamom Cream which were inspired by Wild and the Moon. I’m not much of a scone person, but these look beautiful. I’ve written about The Tiger juice, also from my darling Wild, in my blog about sweet potatoes – it has cardamom too!

I am making this 3-Ingredient Maple-Cardamom Salmon very soon. What a simple but special dish!
A touch of cardamom in this Spiced Rice would be very nice!
I would love to try this Simple Chana Masala – served with the above Spiced Rice, it would be twice as nice!

I’ve mentioned my love of the fall flavor of cardamom before. It inspired me to create Cardamom Caramel Pear Macarons. You should really try them some time! Also, look what I found – Cardamom-Pistachio Bûche de Noël. Cardamom! Pistachios! Oui, oui et oui! I have to make that for Christmas for sure.
For something a little more simple, Cardamom Hot Chocolate should do the trick! I’ll be making it with oat milk, which should make it out of this world delicious! Half-Baked Harvest did a chai pumpkin pie with maple whipped cream that looks pretty simple, and beautiful too!

Here’s a great link for more Cooking Ideas with Cardamom. What about this Manor House Weekend Cardamom Milk Candle from Otherland? It sounds utterly charming with the smells of “Frothy Milk, Cardamom, Praline and Woods”. How about this Grapefruit Cardamom Age-Defying Body Crème ? Masala Chai from Smith Tea anyone? Sounds delicious for a happy Friday.
I think every Thanksgiving spread needs a little something orange 🍊. I have never been a fan of sweet potato casserole. Plus we are already having mashed potatoes. Roasted carrots and sweet potatoes with some parsnips thrown in sounds like a great side to round out any meal, or a meal in itself! And speaking of charming cardamom recipes for a cozy & happy Friday what about a cocktail? Santé! À bientôt!
