Happy moon day beautiful – a monday meditation.
“I feel like the moon is a very beautiful woman. She’s in control.”
Ravyn Lenae
Happy Monday and bon Lundi! Cue the music. I did not realize Monday, or Lundi, meant day of the moon! I guess it’s obvious when you think about it. A friend sent me an article about the poem Clair de Lune by Paul Verlaine. At the end of the article he wishes you a good moon day – I guess you learn something new each day! What I learned yesterday? SAVE YOUR WORK. I had just finished this post when the computer shut down, and I had to rewrite it all over.😱 Anyway, the poem describes the moon as “sad and beautiful”. Melancholy, no? Just like the onset of Monday. But the fact that it’s a moon day makes Monday a little more cool. So here are some random moon reflections. Happy moon day beautiful – a monday meditation.
beauty
“We should be constantly reminding ourselves that the beauty of a work of art is something that will always remain mysterious; that is to say one can never find out exactly how it is done”.
Claude Debussy – French composer, Clair du Lune
The moon makes our world beautiful at night. It’s almost a mysterious beauty, a work of art. Each one of us also are a work of art. Just like the moon, we should be confident of our beauty, inside and out. Regardless of whatever faults we might have, our faults give us a touch of mystery. “Be aware of your qualities and your faults. Cultivate them in private but don’t obsess.” – from Aphorisms in How to be Parisian.
The moon reminds us that darkness can’t take away the beauty of life. Life is mysterious also and it will have it’s ups and downs (which I mentioned in my last monday meditation). Either way, we should reflect the beauty and believe in our purpose. A little sprinkle of Moon Juice Beauty Dust wouldn’t hurt either.
control
“Let’s say you wake up and you think to yourself, Today is gonna be a good day. It’ll be a good day simply because you put that in the atmosphere. You’re in control of how you respond to certain situations.”
Ravyn Lenae
Ravyn’s got the right idea, don’t you think? My last monday meditation was all about self-control. We have this fruit of the spirit in ourselves already, we just need to remember to use it. Tomorrow, lets get up and reflect some positivity out into the atmosphere. Just like the moon, we are powerful, we are in control.
happiness
“With freedom, books, flowers, and the moon who could not be happy?”
Oscar Wilde
Happiness is freedom and freedom is happiness. The poem The Freedom of the Moon by Robert Frost describes this perfectly. The ideas of free will, beauty and imagination, holding the moon in your hands. Of course who couldn’t be happy with a good book? I might need to get this book, Moon, just for the cover… foxes! And there is actually a Moonflower – how pretty!
So happy moon day beautiful – a monday meditation that I hope you enjoyed! Tonight’s moon is in the waxing crescent phase, it’s a great time to see the features of the moons surface. So get out there and soak up the moons beauty, and don’t forget to reflect it back to others around you. I’ll leave you with one last thought – “Don’t worry if you’re making waves just by being yourself. The moon does it all the time.“ —Scott Stabile. And this song. À bientôt!
Awww! What a perfectly lovely read!!!! le sighhh…must look up this Ravyn, thank you for poems!
