friday in Paris avec ma soeur
Salut and happy Friday! I am excited for you to join me for a Friday in Paris avec ma soeur. My sister is one of the most creative, funny, and caring people I know. She cares about the earth, the environment and all the animals. Of course, she has been vegetarian as long as I can remember and for quite a while has been vegan. I would love to see Paris through her eyes. This is my idea of an ideal itinerary, but when we get together who knows what the day will hold?
le matin
First thing of course is to find some pastries – vegan, of course! When I googled vegan pastries VG Pâtisserie in the 11th arrondisment pretty much comes up in every search result. It looks like this is THE place to go for pastries, whether or not you are wanting vegan. I would like to see how their croissant are but the chausson au chocolat looks too good to pass up.
VG happens to be near Pere Lachaise cemetery, which sister might want to see. It is also near Atelier des Lumières which I’m sure she would want to visit, it would be a perfect stop after our petit déjeuner. And then maybe a stop at Aujourd’hui Demain, Paris’ first vegan concept store? Mais oui.
l’après midi
Next we would hop on the metro to Rambuteau. It wouldn’t be a Friday in Paris avec ma soeur if we didn’t spend an afternoon (at least!) in the Marais. I can’t wait until she sees it, so cool, so sister. I’m sure, being us, we would then stop for a quick kir or cocktail. Depending on what we did in the morning, maybe we could stop by the Centre Pompidou, just for a quick visit if we already spent a lot of time in the 11th. Oh boy, now that I’m perusing their site online, I’m sure we would have to go.
Next would be a late lunch, maybe at Miznon so she could see what I’m always going on about? We could split a ratatouille pita and their famous roasted cauliflower. There are so many other vegan friendly places to eat in the Marais. Maybe Le Potager du Marais instead? Of course then we would have to just wander and maybe do a little Marais shopping.
So, how to fit in everything? What about Jay&Joy Organic Vegetable Creamery? Here is an excellent article about it. And we of course have to find the photo booth in Montmartre and have a drink somewhere nearby, preferable at a bar with view? Oh look, right down the street from Le Photomaton, Restaurant Le Relais de la Butte! Obviously, this will trip will be going into Saturday.
le soir
As we go into the evening, so many choices for dinner, its over whelming! Will it be Le Potager de Charlotte, created by two brothers who are passionate about health, the environment, and animal rights? How about 42 Degrés where the menu is based on raw gastronomy? Lotus and Cactus Vegan Tapas certainly looks fun. BrEAThe looks absolutely beautiful, and very french. But this is sisters trip, so it will be up to her to choose. After dinner would be cocktails, and there are so many cool bars in Paris right now, it would take a whole other post to talk about those. Maybe next Friday.
And if we had one more day? Definitely a little trip to Amsterdam… Oh yes, of course a trip to Manchester to visit Henry What a beautiful daydream – a Friday in Paris avec ma soeur. Someday sister! Je t’aime! À bientôt!
Je ne pleure pas. .vos pleurs!
