Bonjour, salut et bienvenue to a special Tuesday blog post! Special because it is a big birthday for ma soeur! I’m taking the time to send love and birthday wishes to a beautiful, creative, loving, sage, special sister. I love you RJ! The artwork above is by Élisabeth Chabin, a french artist, mais oui. It is titled Enfin « libre », acrylique sur toile, 2017. It’s no doubt influenced by sister’s favorite work of art, Michael Sowa‘s Kohler’s Pig. Did you know, Sowa did movie production art for Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain (aka Amélie)? He did matte painting and images that were used in the film (on the wall in Amelie’s bedroom). See sister? It all comes back to the French 😛, you must watch Amélie!

So speaking of pigs, long ago an animal sanctuary Happy Trails caught my attention when it raised money to transport Pigs Across America. I’ve been following and supporting them ever since. Where do I begin saluting you ma soeur?? You are such an inspiration to me. I’ve loved feeling the healthy with you! If I could only be half as creative, or one quarter as devoted to the special things and causes I believe in like you are. Or if I could have only done one hundredth of the things you’ve done, the things you’ve experienced, my wild, brave sister!

But still, I’m so happy to look back at all the things we done together. Growing up with Star Wars together for starters. Raspberry picking with grandma and grandpa and all the cabins at all the state parks. I’m sure that had more than a little to do with our love of nature and the animal kingdom. We really did have good times. I’m so happy we’ve been able to start doing things together again. That is until le plague 🙄… just wait until covid is gone, look out world! Maybe Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for starters?
