10+ ideas for summer inspiration – this is quoi de neuf
Bonjour! I’m getting back on track after the long holiday weekend. So much good food and good drinks. Too much – I went a little overboard for sure. Made the Blue Nachos 3 times😜. Today will be day 9 of Boho Beautiful Transform, that will help. Gwyneth is my inspiration this week, not that she isn’t always an inspiration, and Goop of course. Transform workouts are challenging and about 40 minutes each; that plus walking and eating healthy recipes from GP’s cookbooks should do the trick. I think I’ll watch one of her movies a day too, why not? 10+ ideas for summer inspiration – this is quoi de neuf.
Listen
We had a fun time listening to Yacht Radio on Sirius XM this weekend. When we were outside playing boules, we listened to a great mix we found on YouTube. Summer Breeze Yacht Rock … good times.
Watch
I watched Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga last week. The reviews weren’t that good, but I absolutely loved it, it was too hilarious. Of course Will Ferrell is in it, so how could it not be. I might watch it again.
You know by now I always recommend Earful Tower videos and the recently posted Midnight in Paris: Hemingway edition is no exception. Just a really fun walk. I couldn’t believe the streets were so busy at midnight on a Sunday!
Read
Two novels I just added to my To Read list – I need to make more time for reading! It’s like I’ve slowed down during my time off from work, I’m not sure why… anybody else feel this way? Described as bewitching, beautiful and spellbinding Gingerbread: A Novel by Helen Oyeyemi looks like an very interesting read.
Once Upon a River: A Novel by Diane Setterfield. This description tells me all I need to know: Once Upon a River is a glorious tapestry of a book that combines folklore and science, magic and myth. Suspenseful, romantic, and richly atmospheric, this is “a beguiling tale, full of twists and turns like the river at its heart, and just as rich and intriguing” – M.L. Stedman.
Wear
I’m not sure where I’d wear it, but this Aimee Clarke Organza Silk Shirtdress at Anthropologie looks like an dreamy Impressionist work of art.
Pretty sure I’m going to order this for sister and I’s 4th Annual 80’s Pool Party. We already have a gigantic rainbow unicorn, but this one has glitter 🦄.
Eat
Along with all the great GP cookbook recipes I have yet to try, here are a few more cool recipes I want to try soon. Vegan Bell Pepper Salmon & Cream Cheese Rolls look like a good recipe to add to my ever increasing vegetarian repertoire. Plus I think they would be great for sushi!
Viva la Mocktail! For sure going to try this Cucumber Mint Cooler from David Lebovitz via Mokoloco. Btw, Mokoloco is the little sister of Mokonuts Paris. If you haven’t tried their Mokonuts’ Rye-Cranberry Chocolate-Chunk Cookies yet, do it now.
And for the weekend – this Smoky Watermelon Lemon Margarita from Half Baked Harvest sounds festive and delicious!
And last but not least, check out this Crab & Avocado Toast from lilybubbletea on Instagram – beautiful!
Watermelon Face Mask
Speaking of Watermelon Margaritas, why not make a cooling Watermelon Face Mask with your extra melon? I tried this Raw Juice mask from Anthro and loved it. Until I get more, here is a DIY I put together.
1/4 c. watermelon, try to include some of the white rind, mashed.
1 tsp. rose water
1 tsp. honey
a couple drops rosehip oil or almond oil
a drop of grapefruit extract
Mix all ingredients together well. Apply to clean, toned face, lay down and relax for 20 minutes. Rinse well.
Hope you enjoyed my 10+ ideas for summer inspiration – this is quoi de neuf. Stay tuned next week for the MOST MAGICAL Watermelon Recipe Ever! And join me Friday for a special French Fête Nationale post. À bientôt!
