monday meditation – haiku
Wet break of the day

An eighth moody Monday sings
watching the robin
Bonjour and thank you for joining me today for monday meditation – a haiku. It’s my eighth week of furlough and I’m feeling a little moody and uninspired. It could be the rain – it’s supposed to rain all week – or it could just be the Monday blues. Either way, I don’t have a lot to meditate on today. Whenever I can’t think of what to write in my gratitude notebook, I just make up a haiku. What do you think?
One thing that does lift my spirits is watching the robins in the yard through the front window. There are nine out there right now. I wish I could get a good picture for you. They are so sweet with such a beautiful song. I made baguettes last night (for my Brie Tartine du Dimanche Soir) using this recipe from Allie at Baking a Moment. They turned out beautifully. Just a note though, mind the steam when you open the oven – yikes. Next time I am going to try and half the recipe. I froze two of the baguettes and we ate most of the other two last night. I have a piece left that I am going have with raspberry jam and café au lait this morning. That will definitely set my Monday straight.
Other than that I am really going to concentrate on making time for reading this week. I think that’s just what I need to find a new perspective, a fresh voice. I would love to hear your monday meditation – haiku, please send in the comments or email me at bonjour@charlotteleblog.com and please join me Wednesday for quoi de neuf, à bientôt!
